This picture is pure fantasy for us southern Californians right now! But we shouldn't complain!
Our last day at The Children's School before break will be this Friday, December 17th. We will return from winter break on Monday, January 10th.
We all hope that all of you have a wonderful holiday season with your families.

Thanksgiving Feast
Here at The Children's School we will gather for our annual Thanksgiving Feast on Wednesday, November 24th, at 11:00 am. We would like to invite all of our families and friends to join us that day. We will be feasting and enjoying each other's company outside in our beautiful yard that day.
The children will be helping their teachers prepare the food for the feast. If you would like to donate an item there are sign-up sheets in the cottages.
Everyone will be dismissed at noon on Wednesday, and we will be closed on Thursday and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Hope to see you all there!

Veteran's Day
The Children's School will be closed on Thursday, November 11th, in observance of Veteran's Day.
This is a special opportunity to express our gratitude to all veterans, those in our country and world-wide, for their many sacrifices.
The Commonwealth countries call this Remembrance Day. (The memorial in this picture is in London.)

Safety First!
A great big THANK YOU to Diego's dad, Shawn, from the sherrif's department, and Diego's Uncle Fidel, fireman. They gave a safety talk to the kindergarteners yesterday. Many child safety subjects were covered. They even used a smoke machine and taught the children to crawl under the smoke in case of fire!

Fawn the Goat Came to The Children's School Today
We had a visit from Fawn the Goat today. She is from the Cal Poly Pumpkin Patch, and came to visit The Childen's School with the help of Cindra (one of our fabulous subs). Cindra also brought a 4-week-old chicken to visit the children this afternoon. Needless to say, the children were thrilled. Good times!

The Children's School Library
We have a wonderful lending library here at The Children's School. It is in the Cramer Cottage, and is open to you and your children anytime. We have a great collection of children's books, many that are on permanent loan from the George Stone Center at CGU. All you need to do is sign out the books that you borrow, and sign them back in when you return them. If you have any questions, or need assistance, please ask Sheri in the office.

Kinders Back to School Night
Catie and Susan are hosting their Kindergarten Back to School Night on Wednesday, September 22nd at 7:00 pm. Please arrange childcare for your children that night, if you can. Parent Night for the 3s, 4s and 5s
The Parent Information Night for the 3s, 4s and 5s cottage will be Monday, September 20th, at 7:00 pm. This meeting should last about an hour. Bring questions if you have any! We ask that you try to make arrangements for childcare, so that you can relax and concentrate that evening. We hope you all can make it.
Emergency Preparedness
Hopefully, you received a note and zip-lock bag for your child's school emergency preparedness kit. These were distributed at the Open House, but if you didn't receive one there are extras in each cottage and also in the office.
We are only asking for some comfort items this year, in the event of an emergency where we have to keep your child here for an extended period while you are en route. We are not asking for food items, as The Children's School will provide the food and drink.
Please turn these in to your child's cottage by Monday, September 13th.
